What we collect

When you use Prepovo, we collect the following information:

  • Account data — name, email address, and authentication details managed by Clerk.
  • Voice recordings — audio recorded in your browser when you answer a question.
  • Text answers — transcriptions of your voice recordings and any text you type.
  • Evaluation results — scores and feedback generated by AI for your answers.
  • Usage analytics — anonymous product analytics to improve the service.
  • Payment data — billing information is collected and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. We do not store your credit card details.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — to deliver the service you signed up for (account management, question delivery, evaluation, progress tracking).
  • Legitimate interest — for anonymous product analytics to improve the service.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax and accounting requirements related to payments.

Voice data

Voice recordings are captured in your browser and sent to the OpenAI Whisper API for transcription. Audio is discarded after transcription is complete. We do not store your raw voice recordings.

AI evaluation

Your answer text is sent to OpenAI for evaluation and feedback. This processing is subject to OpenAI's API data usage policy. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models.

Cookies

Prepovo uses the following cookies:

  • Authentication cookies — set by Clerk to maintain your login session. These are essential for the service to function.
  • Analytics cookies — set by PostHog for anonymous usage analytics. No personally identifiable information is included.

Data retention

Your evaluations, scores, and progress data are stored for your benefit so you can track improvement over time. You may request deletion of your data at any time.

International data transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States, by our third-party service providers. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and port your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@prepovo.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

Prepovo is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
